At LinkUp, the protection of your personal data is a priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our platform.

1. Data Collected

LinkUp collects the data necessary for its operation: name, email address, phone number, educational institution, and profile data. If you use tutoring chat, we also collect the messages you send and the documents you choose to share, including PDF, plain-text, and Word files. We may also request camera or photo-library access solely to allow you to set or update your profile picture.

2. Use of Data

Your data is used to:

• Validate your account and community membership.
• Connect you with other users (e.g., sharing your name and phone number with a ride-share driver).
• Provide tutoring bookings and communication between booking participants.
• Deliver messages and documents shared through tutoring chat.
• Maintain service security, investigate abuse, and provide user support.
• Inform you of service updates.
• Manage your subscription and payments.

3. Tutoring Messages and Attachments

Tutoring chat is available to authenticated students participating in the same tutoring booking. LinkUp stores the message text, sender, recipient conversation, time sent, and documents you choose to upload. Supported attachments include PDF, plain-text, and Word files up to 10 MB.

Messages and attachments are made available only to authorized participants in the relevant tutoring conversation. Authorized LinkUp personnel may access this content when reasonably necessary to provide support, maintain safety and security, investigate abuse, or comply with legal obligations.

4. Sharing and Security

LinkUp does not sell or rent your personal data. It may be shared with third parties only when necessary for the service (e.g., payment processor, or a Collaborator to validate a Deal).

We implement security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access. By accepting our terms, you give your consent for your personal information to be safely stored and used for LinkUp purposes only. Data transmitted between the app and our services is encrypted in transit.

5. Camera and Photo Library Permission

The LinkUp mobile app requests access to your device camera and photo library exclusively to allow you to upload or update your profile picture. This data is never used for any other purpose and is never shared with third parties.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your personal data, including tutoring messages and attachments, is retained while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to operate the service, protect its users, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations. You may delete your account in the app or request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting our support team. Some information may be retained when required by law or for legitimate security and fraud-prevention purposes.

7. Applicable Law

This policy is governed by Moroccan law. In the event of a dispute, jurisdiction is expressly granted to the competent courts of Rabat, Morocco.
